Bonito Campground, located on the Sunset Crater Volcano, was named for the lava flow that oozed across the high desert plain over 900 years ago. Nearby are some amazing monuments, the Wupatki National Monument and Sunset Crater National Monument, for the family to check out. The campground is shaded with some beautiful ponderosa pines.
The best thing about Bonito Campground is that it feels remote even though it’s still relatively close to Flagstaff. With a multitude of natural wonders a short distance away from Bonito, you’ll really feel like you’re in the thick of things when you stay at this campground.
“Well run campground. As usual managed by on-site camp hosts, friendly and clean. Nice and chilly at altitude! Has amphitheater with park ranger and science and nature talks. Heavy volcanic area, nicely odd terrain.” – Tom, Google Review
