Glamping in Ohio

Glamping

Glamping is a word that combines the terms “glamour” and “camping.” When you glamp, you will be able to sleep in bunks or beds. You may also have a kitchen, climate control, and running water. The structures in which you glamp include cabins, yurts, and fancy tents. Most of the time, the yurts or tents will be elevated on platforms to keep you from having to sleep on the ground. In Ohio, there are many glamping locations clustered around Akron. There are also a couple of locations near Dayton

What to Bring When Glamping in Ohio

• Clothing appropriate for the season you plan to visit, including large hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen for summer and warm clothing for winter

• Plenty of food and drink for cooking in both your RV and in the glamping accommodations where you stay

• Extra batteries and chargers for the family’s electronics

• Easily replaceable substitutes for money, such as traveler’s checks or prepaid credit cards

• Cards and/or board games for family night activities or for sharing with new friends you make at the resorts where you stay

• Swimwear, beach towels, and other accouterments for water activities

• Bedding of different sizes to use if the resort doesn’t provide it

Being close to the Great Lakes, much of Ohio will experience seasonal lag, which is where all four seasons occur later than they would elsewhere. That means that it will possibly still be warm enough for swimming in October and cold enough for snow well into March. So, it’s a good idea to plan accordingly. In addition to Ohio’s one national park, there are state parks to explore when you’re not relaxing in upscale comfort while glamping. Renting an RV is smart because it lets you enjoy a wonderful lifestyle on your own terms. Finding one on RVshare is a great way to get started.
