Salem Farms Campground

Located 32 miles southeast of Hartford and near the beaches at Fenwick and Niantic, CT, Salem Farms Campground provides 59 luxurious RV sites with 30- and 50-amp service. The campground sits on an old farm with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside. Two swimming pools and two playgrounds provide exciting exercise opportunities for visitors of all ages while a five-acre recreation field hosts horseshoes, corn hole, badminton, tennis, and much more. An adorable petting zoo keeps the youngsters busy, and hiking trails let visitors stretch their legs. The campground’s recreation directors provide planned activities such as movie night, hayrides, and arts and crafts fairs.

Lake Compounce Campground

In Bristol, just 18 miles southwest of Hartford, nestled amongst the rolling hills for which Connecticut is famous, Lake Compounce Campground offers 56 campsites with gravel pads. All their camps are 25 feet wide and 60 feet long, with pull-through capability. Power comes through at either 30-amp or 50-amp service, and Wi-Fi is available at each campsite. The campground provides restrooms, showers, and a camp store where visitors can purchase firewood and groceries. This RV campground sits on the shoreline of Lake Compounce and offers easy access to the Lake Compounce Theme Park, where children and adults can play the day away.

Gentile’s Campground

The first community beyond Bristol and about 24 miles southwest of Hartford is Plymouth, CT, which holds an excellent glamping park named Gentile’s Campground. It offers 105 RV campsites, of which all but two are back-ins. A controlled access gate provides extra security for visitors. The campground offers free Wi-Fi access, restrooms with flush toilets, and hot showers. A swimming pool, horseshoe pits, and rec hall provide additional entertainment.

Campers World on Hopeville Pond

Huddled in the water-rich area of southeast Connecticut near Jewitt City, the Campers World on Hopeville Pond offers 15 RV campsites with full hookups. These sites enjoy 30- and 50-amp service on lots that are an impressive 50 feet wide and 50 feet long. The campground provides free Wi-Fi service, cable TV, a laundry facility, restrooms with flush toilets, and hot showers. After entering the campground, new arrivals are escorted to their campsite to ensure that they are correctly parked and hooked to the system. A controlled access gate closes at night to provide added security for the park’s guests.

Odetah Camping Resort

Located 35 miles southeast of Hartford in Bozrah, CT, Odetah Camping Resort offers 181 full hookup sites. The resort sits beside a 32-acre lake and has a private sandy beach where you can fish, swim, or sunbathe. A camp store provides firewood, ice, and groceries. Visitors find free Wi-Fi service, restrooms with flush toilets, hot showers, playgrounds, both an outside and inside activity gym, and laundry facilities at this highly regarded resort. Guests have access to the lake through a boat ramp to launch boats, canoes, kayaks, or paddleboards that they can rent at the camp store.

Countryside RV Park

Located in Griswold, CT, the Countryside RV Park 108 luxury RV campsites with full hookups. The park provides free Wi-Fi access, restrooms with flush toilets, hot showers, and a full complement of laundry facilities. Countryside is a great place to relax featuring quiet areas to sit and contemplate the horizon, a memorial waterfall, babbling creeks, and a fully stocked fishing pond. Playgrounds keep the kids busy, and there are plenty of trails that run throughout the park to hike or bike.
