Lake Creek Falls

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is responsible for 1 in every 10 acres of land in the U.S.

Located near Eugene, Oregon, Lake Creek Falls is a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) site that is only 1.5 miles from Triangle Lake. The BLM is a government agency that oversees one out of every ten acres in the United States to sustain important areas. At Lake Creek Falls, there are two waterfalls and a parking spot where you can leave your vehicle. The first fall has a plunge pool below and is 40 feet by 15 feet while the other has a rock water slide that lets you slide 100 feet into a pool. BLM RV camping lets you stay close to the falls. If you feel up to making the drive, Crater Lake National Park is located three hours and 11 minutes southeast of Lake Creek Falls.

Planning your Lake Creek Falls BLM trip

When planning your Lake Creek Falls trip, make sure you check the prohibited activities in the park, including the use of weapons and fireworks. You'll want to pack plastic bottles as you cannot have glass bottles on the premises. The BLM allows you to bring your pets with you, but you must keep them on their leashes the whole time and make sure they don't disrupt other guests.

It's also helpful to bring life vests from home if you plan to swim near the falls. These waters have strong rapids that become stronger when you get close to the falls. If you bring a generator, prepare to shut it off at 10 at night. Quiet hours run from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. every day. Learn even more tips about BLM camping before heading to Lake Creek Falls.

Leave No Trace Leaf

The Leave No Trace principle is one the BLM uses to keep its recreational areas clean for future generations. When you produce garbage during your trip, look for one of the garbage cans to dispose of it. You can also keep the trash stored in your RV until you head into town for supplies or find a gas station. Never leave behind any trash or debris. Take steps to ensure you do not disrupt the local wildlife either. Both birds and mammals live in the woods and do not have many encounters with humans. Do not feed them human food or attempt to get close to take photos as either will affect the way they act later. You will also want to leave your fishing supplies at home or in your RV. The BLM does not allow fishing in Lake Creek Falls. It built a ladder to block the salmon from the falls, which led to an increase in the salmon population.
