BLM Camping

Camp Creek Campground

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is responsible for 1 in every 10 acres of land in the U.S.

The Bureau of Land Management, also known as BLM, works to sustain the health, productivity, and diversity of public lands throughout Montana and the rest of the country. The Camp Creek Campground is located in the scenic Little Rockies. This area offers hiking, birdwatching, picnicking, and OHV riding. The Buffington Day Use Area, Horse Corral Campground, and the town of Zortman are some of the notable attractions there.

There are two national parks in Montana that you can visit. Glacier National Park is situated in the northern region of the state near Canada. While Yellowstone National Park is situated mostly in Wyoming, a small section of the park goes over the border into Montana.

Planning your Camp Creek Campground BLM trip

Since BLM campsites are first-come, first-served, it's best to keep a list of multiple locations to ensure that you can find a site. This holds especially true in the busy season of May to October. Make sure to locate and have the number of the closest BLM field office so that you can get help when necessary.

Cell service is fairly limited at various locations throughout the BLM site and surrounding woodlands. Keep in mind that potable water is only available at the James Kipp Recreation Area and the Coal Banks Landing Access Site. You should pack accordingly. Before you head out on your trip, check our blog for all you need to know about BLM Camping.

Leave No Trace Leaf

When visiting any BLM property, it's important that you leave no trace. This means keeping your campfires under control, properly disposing of waste, giving wildlife adequate space, and being mindful of other campers around you. When you respect the woods by leaving no trace, you contribute to the BLM's effort to preserve these beautiful recreation areas for future generations.
