Mirror Lake State Park is located just three miles south-west of Wisconsin Dells in the state of Wisconsin. It covers an area measuring over 2,000 acres and features sandstone bluffs, pine-oak forest, and its namesake Mirror Lake. The lake gets its name due to its often calm and glassy-smooth texture, which beautifully reflects its surroundings. The popular state park is also home to over 150 campsites, as well as a 200-foot swimming beach, boat ramp, picnic area, and over 28 miles of trails designed for hiking, mountain biking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing. Mirror Lake State Park also provides the perfect habitat for a number of wildlife, including deer, raccoons, squirrels, bats, chipmunks, muskrats, beavers, red foxes, and coyotes.
The park is open every day from 6am - 11pm, even when the temperature dips to just 13°F in winter. In summer, visitors can expect temperatures as high as 82°F, making it a balmy destination to enjoy a week or weekend. Mirror Lake State Park has 151 family campsites in three separate campgrounds with seven group sites. Each site has a fire ring, picnic table and sand tent pad and electrical hookups are available. There are showers and both flush and pit toilets.

Just 5 minutes outside of the state park isYogi Bear's Jellystone Park of Wisconsin Dells, one of the most popular campgrounds within the region. It has been running for over 49 years and still provides some of the best, family-friendly fun you’ll find at a campground.

Merry Macs Campground
Merry Macs Campground is a 25-minute drive south of the state park. They provide 20, 30, or 50 amp service, as well as fire pits and picnic tables on every site. Along with their long list of amenities, there’s also planned weekend activities for a whole lot of family fun. RV sites start at $25 daily.

What to Do at
Mirror Lake State Park
Inside Mirror Lake State Park
Whether you’re hoping to enjoy recreational activities such as hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking, swimming, boating, or winter sports – there’s something to keep every type of traveler entertained at Mirror Lake State Park.
Hiking : There are 28.4 miles of hiking trails within the state park, offering varying terrain and levels of difficulty. The most popular is the Echo Rock trail, which is a paved and accessible trail beginning near the Cliffwood campground or boat landing parking areas. A full list of trails can be viewedhere.
Biking : There are around nine miles of trails available for off-road bike enthusiasts that are open from May 1st - Oct 31st each year. These trails are all located on the south side of Fern Dell Road and have surfaces including sand, grass, and woodchips.
Fishing : Both Mirror Lake and Dell Creek offer exceptional fishing opportunities for visitors. There is an accessible fishing pier to the north of the boat launch and an accessible boardwalk with fishing access to the south. Anglers can expect to catch species such as trout, panfish, bass, walleye, and northern pike. Basic fishing equipment is available to use for free from the park office.
Boating, kayaking, and canoeing : The entirety of Mirror Lake is a slow-no-wake zone. Boat, canoe and kayak rentals are available in summer from the park concession stand, Mirror Lake Rentals.
Swimming : Mirror Lake has a 200-foot swimming beach with vault toilets located nearby, making it the perfect place to cool off in summer. Just keep in mind no lifeguards are on duty and pets are prohibited from entering the beach.
Winter activities : There are 17.4 miles of cross-country ski trails and 1.2 miles of trails for snowshoeing within the park. View the winter trails maphere. A state trail pass is required for skiers 16 years of age and older. Ice fishing is also a rewarding activity during the winter months.

Just a short drive from the state park is the popularWizard Quest, the nation's first team-building fantasy game. It offers three different levels: Dragon Quest, Apprentice Quest, and Freedom Quest. Admission ranges from $10.99 - $14.99 per person.

TheTommy Bartlett Show is a long-running water-ski and boat show featuring extreme stunts and comedy during the summer. The Tommy Bartlett Exploratory Interactive Science Center is also on-site, open year-round. Tickets start at $12.

Mid-Continent Railway Museum
For something less challenging or extreme, a visit to the nearbyMid-Continent Railway Museum is recommended. Here, you can enjoy seasonal countryside train rides, as well as exhibits and artifacts on steam railroading from 1880-1916.

Mirror Lake State Park
Mirror Lake State Park is conveniently located just off Interstate 90-94. Exit I-90-94 to U.S. Highway 12 south of Wisconsin Dells.
