The Kitsap Memorial State Park sits on the northwest shore of the Kitsap Peninsula. The park looks out over the Hood Canal, a 68-mile saltwater fjord. It's less than 30 miles from Seattle but takes 90 minutes to get there because of the ferry across Puget Sound. An overland route from Tacoma takes less than one hour. Despite its proximity to the rainforests that are on the Olympic Peninsula, Kitsap Memorial State Park only receives about 40 inches of rainfall annually.

Kitsap Memorial State Park Campground

Cove RV Park & Country Store
About a 30-mile drive from Kitsap Memorial State Park, Cove RV Park & Country Store is a cozy park that offers full hookup RV spots. Cable TV and Wi-Fi are also available. The park includes 1,797 feet of saltwater shoreline, offering opportunities to go clamming, crabbing, oyster harvesting, swimming, diving, and saltwater fishing. Other recreational activities include two fields that are perfect for throwing a frisbee, playing croquet, kite flying, and tossing a ball around. The Log Hall is a quaint building in Kitsap Memorial State Park that is a popular venue for weddings and other celebrations.

Kitsap Memorial State Park
The state park is located just off Washington Route 3, five miles south of the Hood Canal Bridge. From Tacoma, take Route 16 and then merge onto Route 3. Turn left onto NE Park Street and follow that to Kitsap Memorial State Park. From Seattle, the most direct route is to take Madison St and then Alaskan Way toward the Seattle - Bainbridge Ferry. Turn right into the Ferry Waiting Zone, left onto Seattle Ferry Terminal, and right onto Washington Route 305. Take the Seattle - Bainbridge Ferry to Bainbridge Island, then continue on Washington Route 305 and merge onto Washington Route 3. Turn left onto NE Park St and follow that to the park
