Stony Brook State Park
Inside Stony Brook State Park
Stony Brook State Park is a great place to go swimming or hiking. There are three moderately difficult trails that you can explore; the gorge trail is easy to manage and very scenic while the two rim trails have you climbing cliffs and walking through the woods to look over the falls in the park. At the end of your hike, you can jump into one of the plunge pools to relax and cool off. The narrow channels serve as natural waterslides for some, and the most stunning pictures of the falls come from the plunge pools.
Outside Stony Brook State Park
When you're done exploring Stony Brook State Park, there are plenty of things that you can do nearby. Many of these restaurants, shops, and other attractions are located off I-390, I-86, or NY-36. With less than an hour's drive between Stony Brook State Park and Rochester, NY, there's definitely something for everyone to enjoy in the area.

How to Get to
Stony Brook State Park
From Rochester: Travel south down I-390 South and then turn onto NY-36 South. The park will be located on the left.
From Buffalo: Take I-90 South to NY-400 South. Then, take US-20A East to the exit to NY-36 South. The park will be on your left after about 17 miles.
Entering Stony Brook State Park
The north park entrance is open from dawn until dusk all year, but during the winter, the south entrance, the gorge trail, and other areas may be closed.
