Along the south shore of Lake Ontario is the beautiful Golden Hill State Park in Barker, New York. It's open year-round which allows visitors to partake in everything from basking on the beach during the summertime to driving snowmobiles in the winter. The park is well-known for the Thirty Mile Point Lighthouse that resides on the 510-acre property. Golden Hill State Park offers opportunities for camping, boating, picnicking, fishing, and tours of the lighthouse landmark. The nearest cities to the park are Medina and Albion.

Regardless of the time of year that you visit Golden Hill, there will be a variety of activities to entertain you and your family. Guests can enjoy traditional nature hikes and biking along the many trails or hunting in one of the designated areas. Boat enthusiasts can launch their watercraft at one of the several accessible boating areas situated along the coast. You can hunt for small game, pheasant, and waterfowl in the designated hunting areas, but all hunters must have an NYS hunting license, a HIP number, and a federal "duck" stamp. During the summer, visitors of Golden Hill can play disc golf, go fishing, and explore the hiking areas. Ice fishing and snowmobiling are both popular throughout the winter months.
How to Get to
Golden Hill State Park
At approximately an hour away, Buffalo, NY, is the largest city near Golden Hill State Park. If you're traveling from Buffalo, take I-990 northeast to NY-78 North. From there, drive north to NY-93 East and follow that to NY-31 East. Finally, turn left onto Road 121, which will lead you to the park.

Golden Hill State Park is open year-round. Entrance fees are collected from April through October from 8 AM to 9 PM. Visitors can camp from May through October with campsite fees ranging from $15-$31 per night.
