Spanning 14 acres in northern New Hampshire, Nansen Wayside Park is home to a historical 170-foot steel-framed ski jump. This was the largest ski jump in the eastern United States for nearly 50 years. While it's generally not open for jumps today, The Big Nansen is still popular with visitors. Nansen Wayside Park is located off of NH-16 near the banks of the Androscoggin River, just 3.2 miles from Milan and about five miles from Berlin. The area is unstaffed, but it's open to the public year-round for a range of watersports and winter activities. Squirrels, deer, various bird species, and other small game animals live in the park and can be seen quite often.
