Graham Cave State Park spans 386 acres near the Graham Cave Glades Natural Area in Missouri. Artifacts found in the area date back to the Archaic period. You'll find interpretive and interactive exhibits throughout the park to shed light on these earlier times. Outdoor explorations await, including water activities. Local attractions near the state park include Eco Adventure Ziplines, Endless Summer Winery, Wood Hat Spirits Distillery, and Curling Vine Winery.

RV Resorts & Campsites in Graham Cave State Park
The Graham Cave Campground has 52 camping spots, some with electrical, water, and sewage hookups. The park has ADA access and offers potable water, showers, picnic tables, fire rings, picnic shelters, a boat ramp, and toilets. Firewood is available, and you can take advantage of the laundry facilities, a playground, and sanitary dumps. The campground is pet-friendly.
What to Do at
Graham Cave State Park
Visitors often come to the park for peace and solitude. Still, the park offers many outdoor activities, including hiking, picnicking, swimming, bird and wildlife watching, fishing, boating, and camping. You could fish for bass or catfish during your visit, or you and your family could picnic and enjoy nature. You'll find many bird species and other animals on the hiking trails and the many vantage points. You can rent canoes, kayaks, and rafts from an on-site vendor during the summer.
Fishing
Anglers come to the park to catch crappie, bass, catfish, and bluegill. Many visitors have reported catching fish ranging from 5 to 40 pounds. There isn't a limit on how many fish you can catch, and you can fish from the shore or on a boat. All guests must wear a life jacket when riding on a boat, and a valid fishing license is required.
Geocaching
Go to the Visitor Center for details about the current geocaching adventure. You'll find many hidden treasures and have an opportunity to sign the logbook.
Nature Watching
There are hundreds of bird species at the park, including downy woodpeckers, ruby-throated hummingbirds, bald eagles, black-capped chickadee, northern parula, common yellowthroat, hooded warbler, chestnut-sided blackburnian, blue-gray gnatcatcher, summer tanager, brown thrasher, blue grosbeak, red-breasted nuthatch.
Stargazing
Optimal stargazing locations at the park include the shores of the Loutre River and the campground.
Flora and Fauna
The plants and flowers at the state park include whorled milkweed, false indigo, plains coreopsis, rose verbena, fewleaf sunflowers, gum plant, Carolina anemones, prickly pear cactus, rock pinks, columbines, purple prairie clovers, pale-purple coneflowers, Indian paintbrush, and wild geraniums. The wildlife at Graham Cave State Park includes raccoons, beavers, coyotes, white-tailed deer, prairie lizards, snakes, foxes, wood frogs, wolves, and wild turkeys.
Hiking
Guests can enjoy many vantage points to see breathtaking views from the hiking trails. The Indian Glade and Graham Cave Loop is 2.5 miles long and takes about 58 minutes to complete. The Loutre River Trail is 1.8 miles long and lasts about 44 minutes, and the Graham Cave Trail is 0.3 miles long and takes about eight minutes to hike.
Boating
There is a paved boat ramp for easy access to the lake. Guests can take boat rides from sunrise to sundown, except from December to mid-March. Canoes, kayaks, tubes, and rafts are allowed on the lake.
Swimming
Guests only swim within the designated swimming area during the summer. There isn't a lifeguard on duty, so visitors swim at their own risk.
Biking
Mountain bikes are permitted on the hiking trails; however, motorized bikes are prohibited.
How to Get to
Graham Cave State Park
From Danville, head south on MO-161 toward Main Street. Turn right onto State Hwy TT and continue for 2.3 miles. The park entrance is on the right.
Entering Graham Cave State Park
Park your vehicle in the parking lot and enter the park on foot unless you are camping. You can drive your car to your camping spot. There are accessible parking spots available. The state park is open 24 hours a day for camping and from sunrise to sunset for day-use visitors. Pets are allowed at the park; the maximum RV length is 62 feet. Alcohol is permitted at your campsite, but it isn't allowed in public spaces. Smoking is allowed outdoors, and smokers must clean up after themselves.
