Bayou Segnette State Park sits on the west banks of the Mississippi River and is 13.5 miles southwest of New Orleans. The park features marshes and swamps, making it the perfect ecosystem for wildlife such as American minks, coypus, raccoons, opossums, and American alligators. Inside Bayou Segnette State Park

The inside of Bayou Segnette State Park offers multiple recreational activities for the whole family. Cool off in the wave pool for an additional small fee. The popular boat launch provides access to fresh and saltwater fishing; some known catches of the area are redfish, bass, bream, catfish, perch, and trout. If you're traveling from Westwego, you'll want to head southwest onto Avenue East toward Fifth Street. Turn right onto Westbank Expressway just passed the McDonalds on the right, and then, you'll make a right onto Drake Avenue. Next, you'll want to follow signs to the state park.
