The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival is an eight-day festival held over two consecutive weekends at the Fair Grounds Race Course. It features 14 stages for concerts by artists from various musical genres ranging from worldwide acts to over 500 local musical artists. Jazz Fest, as the locals call it, is more than a music experience. While there, you can sample Louisiana cuisine as well as standard festival fare. The event also features one-of-a-kind arts and crafts and much more. You'll find something for everyone!
Music is the festival's main draw, but the heritage part also manifests itself in the craft and food offerings. The Expedia Cultural Exchange Pavilion will celebrate Mexico's heritage in 2025. Craft exhibitors have yet to be announced, but you can visit this page for updates. Since the event's start in the 1970s, the crafts area has grown to include regional and national artists divided into three venues. The Congo Square African Marketplace mixes music and art that was the basis of the New Orleans jazz and cultural heritage. There is a mixture of ancient and modern crafting techniques. Located in Heritage Square, the Contemporary Crafts venue features blues, jazz and gospel music tents. Here, you'll find leather goods, handcrafted clothing, musical instruments, metalwork, paintings, photographs, pottery turning, sculptures and jewelry. The Louisiana Marketplace features traditional and contemporary artists from the state. It sells items such as Creole and Acadian furniture, jewelry, and hand-colored photographs.
Food vendors can be found throughout the Jazz Fest. The full list of food vendors for 2025 has not yet been named. However, you can expect lots of traditional Louisiana cuisine as well as standard fare. Food vendors are scattered throughout the grounds along with porta potties and first aid stations.
