Located near Little Rock, Arkansas, DeGray Lake Resort State Park sits in the foothills of the Ouachita Mountains. At this state park, visitors can enjoy water activities on DeGray Lake, which spans 13,800 acres. With a year-round campground, DeGray Lake Resort State Park, Arkansas's only resort state park, also features a lodge with a swimming pool and fitness center, a restaurant, a golf course, and a marina.

The campground at DeGray Lake Resort State Park has 113 campsites that range from full hookups — including 50-amp electrical, water, and sewage hookups — to partial hookups, including 30-amp electrical and water hookups, to primitive tent sites. Of the sites at the campground, 25 have full hookups, while 82 have partial hookups. The campground is shaded and features amenities such as tables and grills, an RV dump station, and bathhouses.
What to Do at
DeGray Lake Resort State Park
At DeGray Lake Resort State Park, you can go boating or fishing on the clear lake, swim at the lodge pool or in the lake at the swimming beaches, or enjoy using the park’s 18-hole championship golf course or 18-hole disc golf course for free. Park staffers offer regularly scheduled interpretive programs, including guided hikes, snorkeling programs, and sunset boat cruises. This park has a unique escape room program that you can enjoy if you register in advance. The cost to experience the escape room is $20, with discounts available for lodge guests and campers.
Fishing
There is a bait and tackle shop at the park's marina, and anglers can fish in DeGray Lake for bass, crappie, bream, walleye, and catfish. Some of the best fishing spots are at the marina, though you may also fish along the shore on any of the hiking trails.
Geocaching
DeGray Lake Resort State Park is open for geocaching, and the Arkansas State Parks system often places caches in the park boundaries for visitors to find. Typically, there are over 50 caches within the park at any given time, and most caches can be found easily along the park’s hiking trails.
Hiking
There are six hiking trails at DeGray Lake Resort State Park, including the Chickadee Trail, Green Heron Trail, Island Trail, Saginaw Trail, and Towering Pines Trail. Most trails feature lakeside views, and most can be accessed from either the campground, lodge, or visitor center areas.
Boating
The marina at this state park offers a boat launch ramp, a fuel station, a boat dock, and a shop with ice, food and drink, and tow services. The marina shop also handles boat rentals, and there are party barges for rent. Fees for rentals and for using the marina may apply. Paddleboaters can also check out the Islets Cove Paddle Trail, a shoreline boating trail that is typically open from January to June.
Swimming
There are a couple of swim beaches at this park, on De Roche Ridge and Caddo Bend. Lodge guests can also enjoy swimming in an outdoor pool between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
How to Get to
DeGray Lake Resort State Park
To reach DeGray Lake Resort State Park from Little Rock, take I-30 West for approximately 62 miles. From there, take exit 78 to merge onto AR-7 North to Caddo Valley/Hot Springs. Continue for 6 miles, then turn left onto Edgewood Drive. Turn left immediately onto Small Dike Road, then turn right again onto State Park Entrance Road. Continue for about half a mile, and look for the park’s visitor center on your left.

Once in DeGray Lake Resort State Park, you can park at the visitor center, the campground, the lodge, the marina, or any of the trailheads. ADA-accessible parking on pavement is available in the lodge area.

The best time to visit DeGray Lake Resort State Park is during the peak season, which runs from March to November, so you can have a meal at the park's own restaurant and enjoy swimming by the beach.
