Cutler Bay is a town located in Miami-Dade County near the southern tip of Florida. The community got its name from Dr. William Cutler, who first visited the area in 1880 and would soon encourage others to settle in the new town. The settlement was originally called "Cutler" and then "Cutler Ridge." It didn't become Cutler Bay until the early 21st century. The town of Cutler Ridge saw growth early in its history, thanks to the arrival of the Florida East Coast Railway in the early 1900s.
As of 2022, Cutler Bay had a population of approximately 46,500. The city is known for its proximity to the beautiful Biscayne National Park, as well as its many dining, shopping, and entertainment offerings. If you want to shop while in town, the most popular spot is the Southland Mall. Next to the mall, you'll find the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center, which is a great place to attend a dance show, musical performance, or play.
The Cutler Bay area features no shortage of opportunities for outdoor recreation. The sun is frequently shining in southern Florida, and one way to enjoy it is by heading to the Mangrove Preserve for a day of wildlife viewing and bird watching. You could also have a pleasant picnic or take a refreshing dip in the pool over at Cutler Ridge Park. If you want to learn something new, consider stopping by the Gold Coast Railroad Museum to see the unique artifacts and historic train cars. When you get famished, you'll have several great restaurants to choose from, including Rodbenders Raw Bar & Grill, Moon Thai & Japanese, and Pubgrill.
