About 41,000 people live in Mountain Home, Arkansas. The first settler in the area was probably Simeon "Rapp" Talburt, who moved to the area around 1812. The original town was named after him and was known as Rapp's Barren. In the 1830s, the James Leonard family moved to the area and purchased the home.
