Talimena Scenic Drive is a National Scenic Byway from Mena, and it travels northwest and enters the Ouachita National Forest. It follows the climbing of Rich Mountain, the second-highest Arkansas peak at 2,681 feet. It is a long trail that goes through the Rich and Winding Stair mountains to Talihina. The route is so beautiful that one must travel in Mena; you would see everything on the way, including valleys, forested peaks, streams and lakes. You will be amazed to know that there are a minimum of 13% hill grades along the route. All in all, this drive is full of adventure and fun. Janssen Park is a 10-acre community park that was used as a hospital, city hall and post office a couple of years back. It is a municipal park located in the city's centre and is bounded by the Janssen and Port Arthur Avenues and 9th and 7th streets. There are many things to see in the park, including two spring-fed ponds, a bronze boy and girl fountain, two Mountain Howitzer Cannons and various other interesting artefacts. Kansas City Southern Depot is a historic railroad station that is located on Sherwood Street in the heart of the city of Mena. It was designed by a railroad architect and was made by the contractor George W. Goodlander of Kansas. It is one of the most early-20th-century railroad stations in the state. It takes around 2 hours to visit the complete place. It's a great place to visit with kids as here, they will be able to see collections of railroad memorabilia and a municipal art gallery.
