The Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Championship is an annual event that takes place at Loretta Lynn Ranch. Dozens of amateur motocross competitors will show off their skills as they vie for the national championship. The best way to fully experience this event is by camping on-site in an RV. At the Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship, you can see all of the main motocross events that crown winners of the amateur season. You can also explore the ranch in between events to go fishing, rent a canoe, or visit the property’s museums.

There are quite a few amenities for visitors. The grounds have open-air festival seating with shaded picnic areas. Concessions will be available too. The Ranch itself also has lots of things to do when you’re not watching the races. Tour Loretta’s plantation home, see a simulated coal mine, shop at the western store, and visit the grist mill and Native American Artifact Museum.

The Loretta Lynn Ranch hosts the Amateur National Motocross Championship every year, and it’s found in a remote area outside of Nashville. The address is 8000 Highway 13 South, Hurricane Mills, TN 37078. August in Tennessee is typically humid and hot, so plan to bring appropriate clothing, too.

Why is the Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Championship held at Loretta Lynn's Ranch?
It's been held at the ranch annually since 1982. Country music legend Loretta Lynn agreed to host the event after race promoter Dave Coombs suggested it.
RVING AT THE EVENT
On-site RV camping provides a budget-friendly way to enjoy this event. Loretta Lynn Ranch offers two campgrounds for RV enthusiasts. The first is Stagecoach Hill, which features 55 paved, full hookup sites. If you choose Stagecoach Hill, be aware that rigs larger than 30 feet may want to take Highway 13 North from I-40 to avoid tight roads. Amenities include a shower house, laundry facilities, a fire pit, and a playground. The second option at Loretta Lynn Ranch is the Lower Campground. This area spans 10,000 acres. 140 campsites offer water and electric hookups. Everyone else has a dry camping experience. Amenities include a playground, an in-ground pool, nearby Hurricane Creek, and a bathhouse.
Where to Camp Near the Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Championship
If you choose not to stay on-site, you can book a spot at the Buffalo / I-40 / Exit 143 KOA Journey. This campground is located approximately 6 miles from the Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Championship. They offer spacious sites with full hookups. This is the best place for larger rigs because the site footprint reaches 65 feet. Amenities include a bathhouse, laundry facility, a swimming pool, and a Gaga Ball pit. Another option is Piney River Resort, where you're invited to unplug, escape, and make memories. It's less than 17 miles away from the Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Championship. Amenities include 50-amp and 30-amp hookups, along with water and sewer hookups. Also, they offer pull-thru sites, laundry facilities, and a fire ring. Finally, there's the Cedar Ridge RV Park, located approximately 17 miles from the ranch. This newer facility offers full hookups for modern RVs, Wi-Fi, showers, and laundry facilities. They only allow 20 RVs at a time, so be sure to book this park early.

HOW TO GET THERE
RVers are advised to take Interstate 40 instead of back roads to reach the ranch. Back roads may not be wide enough for big rigs. • From Nashville: Take I-40 W 65 miles to exit 143. Take Highway 13 N seven miles to the track entrance on your left. • From Memphis: Take I-40 E about 140 miles to exit 143. Take Highway 13 N seven miles to the track entrance on your left.

The Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Championship is one step down from professional racing. It allows you to support rising motocross racers. 6-Day RV Itinerary for Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Championship
• Day 1 (Monday - Practice Day): Kick off 'The World's Greatest Motocross Vacation' by arriving and getting your RV set up. Each day is expected to have a specific theme, though 2026's themes haven't been announced yet. • Day 2 (Tuesday) Enjoy a day of exciting motocross racing! Day 2 features 20+ Motos. You can also check out nearby Overholt's Farm Market to pick up fresh produce for your stay. • Day 3 (Wednesday) The First Motos conclude racing, followed by the start of the Second Motos. This is also a good day to browse the ranch's grounds and visit the "Coal Miner's Daughter" Museum. • Day 4 (Thursday) Second Motos continue. This is the last day before each race becomes a do-or-die, which makes this a good opportunity to visit nearby Gutter Bound Distillery. • Day 5 (Friday) The beginning of the Final Motos. The adrenaline will be flowing as each racer tries to make it to the podium. If the weather is nice, take a short trip to Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park after the day's races. • Day 6 (Saturday) Conclusion of the Final Motos. This is when the championship is awarded, so you don't want to miss it. After, it's time to head back home. Consider making a stop at the Bell Witch Cave in Adams, TN, or visiting Pigeon Forge, TN, for Dollywood after leaving the Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Championship.
