Held every fall at Martinsville Speedway, the Xfinity 500 takes drivers 500 laps around the track for a total of 263 miles. Check out the race and stay at the speedway in an RV to make sure you don’t miss any of the pre- and post-race events.
Before the race begins, you can watch Q&A sessions with the race’s NASCAR drivers, see the official driver introductions, and all the pre-race ceremonies. Those with experience passes can enjoy a private viewing room before, during, and after the race with comfortable seating in a personalized setting. The Xfinity 500 is one stop on the road to the final championships for drivers, and it’s a race that boosts some drivers’ ranks to get closer to being the ultimate winner of the NASCAR playoffs.
Be sure to stop by the souvenir vendor displays for apparel and presents while at the racetrack. You can bring in one cooler with food and drinks for the day or enjoy the on-site concessions. There is also a fully staffed Hospital Fan Care area for minor injuries or ailments as well as First Aid stations and ambulances. There’s a Guest Information Center where you can learn more about the day’s events, disabled assistance, and get directions too.
Martinsville Speedway is found on the outskirts of Ridgeway, a small town in Virginia. The address is: 340 Speedway Rd. Ridgeway, VA 24148
The Martinsville Speedway offers nine different camping options for those who want to park their RV right at the race. Both infield and outer field spots are available for campers, and campsites range from 40 feet to 45 feet in length. Here are some tips for staying at Martinsville Speedway in your RV: • The only campground areas that offer hookups for campers are Champions Overlook and Backstretch. Only Champions Overlook offers paved campsites up to 45 feet in length. • All campsite reservations require you to have purchased a race ticket before booking your reservations. • All campground areas offer portable restrooms and access to a shower facility. Rentable personal restrooms are available for most camping areas, too. • If you plan on staying in a dry camping area, consider bringing a generator along with you. Generators are a great way to power heating and cooling equipment or the kitchen in your RV for a temporary period of time.
If you can’t get into the campgrounds at Martinsville Speedway, try staying at another campground in Roanoke or at a nearby hotel. • The Travel Inn is a hotel located just a few miles from the speedway, and it offers free WiFi and parking for guests. There’s also a pool, and some rooms allow pets to stay with you. • The Travelodge by Wyndham Ridgeway Martinsville Area is another hotel just a short drive from the race’s location. At this hotel, you’ll find an outdoor pool, Wi-Fi, parking, and more pet-friendly rooms. • The Ridgeway Inn, found right off of Greensboro Road, is another place to stay with Wi-Fi and ample parking. This hotel is right next to a steakhouse and some small shopping complexes.
