The State Fair of Louisiana has been a must-attend event for over 100 years! It’s the largest livestock show and carnival in the entire state of Louisiana. This is a family-friendly event with plenty of fun for all ages, including special events and attractions, free concerts and more. Visitors can take in the carnival and rides, plenty of traditional fair food, livestock shows and displays and competitive events including a 4-H talent contest, cheer and dance championship, cooking contests, the state fair car show and more.
From the fair tradition of livestock shows to free concerts and a free circus daily, there is a wide variety of entertainment available at the State Fair of Louisiana.

Street entertainers: The Clown of Many Faces will be found wandering around the parade on her tricycle, in her funny car, painting faces, or making balloon animals.
Special days: There is Free Fair Days which includes free admission and free parking to the state fair on weekdays 12am-3pm.

LRCA Finals Rodeo: The rodeo will take place on October 31, November 1, and November 2 with doors opening at 6pm and the show beginning at 7pm.
Competitive events: There are a variety of competitive events at the State Fair of Louisiana including: Antique Tractor & Pull Show, Cheer & Dance Championship, Baton & Dance Line Competition, 4-H Talent Contest, 4-H Livestock Quiz Bowl, State Fair BB Gun Competition, Cooking Contests, State Fair Car Show, Tamale Showdown Contest.
Forgot your cash, hoping to grab a bite or bring home some state fair merchandise? The fair has you covered! Amenities available include a wide variety of food/beverage concessions, beer and daiquiri stands, electric cart, stroller, wagon and wheelchair rentals, merchandise stands along with the fair office selling t-shirts and hats, ATMs, lost and found and onsite EMS and police.

While there is no RVing on site at the State Fair of Louisiana during the fair, there are plenty of opportunities to RV around the Shreveport area, and no shortage of sites and experiences to make it a great vacation! Some of the nearby RV parks to choose from include:

From I-20 West: Take I-20 East and exit at exit 16A (Hearne Ave.), Take a left (North) on Hearne Ave and proceed to Kings Hwy. Take a left (west) on Kings Hwy and follow into Louisiana State Fairgrounds.
From I-20 East: Take I-20 West and exit at exit 16A (Hearne Ave.), Take a right (North) on Hearne Ave and proceed to Kings Hwy. Take a left (west) on Kings Hwy and follow into Louisiana State Fairgrounds.
General parking on-site at the fairgrounds is $5.00, but is free on weekdays from 10am – 3pm.
