In an ideal north coast location, Mad River Rapids RV Park is just off Highway 101, which makes getting into the park and then back on your way a breeze. Quiet Arcata, California is away from tourist traffic yet close enough to enjoy Redwood National Park. This RV park, one of the highest-rated on the north coast, is also the closest location to Humboldt State University.
A family-owned and -operated park, Mad River Rapids RV Park provides 80-foot-long, paved, and level sites with full hookups on a beautifully landscaped, 9-acre property. There are a seasonal, heated pool and a year-round hot tub, and adjacent to the park is a full-service restaurant and convenience store. The Activity Room offers indoor games and an arcade while a playground, horseshoes and a half-court basketball area can be found outside.
“I stayed here in my class A motorhome for six nights at site 18. Power was good. Water pressure was good and my pull through pad was level. I spent my days fishing. I did not use the showers, restrooms, or laundry room. I saw what appeared to be some long-term RV’ers but nothing that concerned me as every site was clean and orderly. This location worked well for my needs and I would not hesitate to stay here again when up in the Arcata area. While I don’t have pets I saw several sites occupied by pets and their owners.” – Bill P., Google Review
