Urban Camping

Louisiana is a wonderful place to visit in your RV. The state’s varied terrain includes bayous, lakes, river valleys, broad rolling hill farmlands, and Kisatchie National Forest meaning there is plenty to explore in the great outdoors. Additionally, the four largest cities in Louisiana — New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Shreveport, and Lafayette — provide an array of options for urban camping in Louisiana that draw RV travelers from around the country.

Want to give Louisiana urban camping a try? Here’s where you should go to do just that.

Urban RV Camping in Louisiana

Louisiana is a very RV-friendly place. The roads are free of steep grades and the highways tend to be wide and comfortable for driving a big rig. You will, of course, want to avoid the side streets in the crowded downtown areas with a big RV, but that is true of pretty much any city. RV campgrounds are plentiful and many are located in the cities or very nearby. You’ll also find plenty of rest areas and gas stations that can accommodate RVs.

Keep in mind that the weather is very hot and muggy during Louisiana summers and the winters can get quite chilly. Therefore, it’s best to plan your visit for spring or fall.

With an RV rental, your urban vacation will be a little more comfortable! After you’ve spent a long day exploring the city, you can relax around the fire at your campsite. Then, retire inside to enjoy all the comforts of home onboard your RV. Plan your perfect urban getaway with an RV rental from RVshare.
