Day 2: Find Uniquely Fresno Activities

Morning: A Hand-Carved Wonder

No trip to Fresno is complete without visiting the historic Forestiere Underground Gardens. It took Sicilian immigrant Baldassare Forestiere 40 years to hand-carve all the rooms and tunnels. Fruit trees that he planted 90 years ago still bear fruit. It’s best to make a reservation for the one-hour guided tour, which is suitable for all ages.

Lunch: You Gotta Have Soul

For the best soul food, head to Rhapsody’s for lunch. The menu offers favorites like smothered chicken, a variety of seafood, and daily specials. Just make sure to leave room for something from the dessert menu!

Afternoon: Time to Cool Off

It gets hot in Fresno, so one of the best ways to spend a summer afternoon is at the Island Waterpark. You can have a leisurely float along the endless Waimea River or get the adrenaline pumping on the Thrills of Fiji waterslide. The park offers food, and you can rent a cabana for a more relaxing time. Other times of the year, you can enjoy miniature golf and the arcade at Ghost Golf.

Evening Theater

Combine dinner with your evening’s entertainment at Roger Rocka’s Dinner Theater. Depending on the day of the week, you can catch a matinee or evening performance. The menu changes slightly depending on the play.
