The Annual Rental areas start looking a little rough, but just down the road from OSU, it is very convenient. The lake itself is very nice with a great protected harbor and boat launch. Lake McMurtry National Resource and Recreation Area has a beautiful backdrop. It is a good location for nature photography because of the scenic lake. Campers have access to 28 miles of multiuse trails that can be used for running, biking and hiking.
Lake McMurtry is one of the best places for RV camping in Stillwater, Oklahoma to bring a family. The hiking trails are amazing and located all over the recreation area. You can also get a family competition going on at the two 18-hole disc golf courses. There are also kayaks for rent, and the playground can keep children entertained for hours.

We have enjoyed hiking the trails every time too. Kayaking has offered some wonderful views of waterfowl and always full of photo opportunities around every bend. A great area to spend a weekend or just come out for a gorgeous sunset or sunrise. I would have given 5 stars if the RV spots had concrete pads. Spoiled right? Lazy J Arena sits on 100 acres of beautiful countryside. The campground is surrounded by trees and several ponds. This horse-oriented recreation area has three covered stall areas that house 32 personal stalls and pens and 140 weekend stalls.
If you are constantly traveling, then it is hard to get a home cooked meal; fortunately, Lazy J Arena has a café on-site. This café is climate-controlled and open for every event with a menu that is made up of a variety of homemade dishes. After having an excellent meal, you can watch horses train and compete at Lazy J Arena.
