What to See and Do
Hiking and Biking
Boars Tusk
Most of this trail is a sandy road that will have you fighting to move forward. With prairies and dunes in the distance and sagebrush as far as you can see, you'll have a fun afternoon hiking or driving along this scenic route.

Fort Bridger Historic Site
Get your steps in while exploring a local historic landmark. This trail has an abundance of displays with local facts and history. Take a few pictures of the buildings and landscape before continuing your journey through Wyoming.

Historic Quarry Trail
This trail promises amazing views of the nearby land as well as fascinating rock formations. If you plan to visit during the colder months, be sure to bring snowshoes. There's minimal shade along this route but plenty of benches, so you can sit and rest.

Fishing and Boating
Try your hand at fly fishing in the Green River. Cutthroat trout, brown trout, and rainbow trout are common catches in the area. You could also travel north to fish from the Fontenelle Reservoir or south to the Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area. Contact the local game and fish department for more information on fishing licenses.
Climbing
Popular climbing spots near the Wilkins Peak Bike Trail include The Towers, Wilkins Peak, Whalen Butte, and White Mountain. There are many climbing peaks within 50 miles of the city of Green River. The Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area is a little further away but has many unique peaks, summits, and buttes.
Wildlife Viewing
Wyoming's natural landscape is home to a variety of creatures. There are more than 100 mammal species in the area and 400 species of birds. While you're out exploring the land, you may see wild horses, bison, deer, and antelope. Black bears, mountain lions, and bald eagles are also common sights.
Picnicking
The Wilkins Peak Bike Trail is adjacent to the city of Green River, giving you excellent access to picnic tables, shade structures, and resting areas. You'll also be able to use public bathroom facilities and benches. As you explore further away from the city, you may need to picnic next to your RV or along the trails you find.
