Alcova Dinosaur Trail is a great place to enjoy a scenic hike or bike ride. Along the way, you can take in the amazing scenery, spot various wildlife and maybe even find a few dinosaur fossils. Bikers can enjoy the thrill of the winding terrain, while hikers can take their time to appreciate the area's natural beauty. Length: 2.4 miles Intensity: Moderate

Casper Mountain Trail

The hiking and biking are excellent on the Casper Mountain Trail. It offers a moderately intense adventure for hikers of all skill levels. The trail winds through rocky terrain, providing breathtaking views and lots of desert fauna and flora. You can even take a detour to the Casper Planetarium for a chance to look through a telescope at the evening sky if hiking or biking the trail later in the day. Length: 6 miles Intensity: Moderate

Rawlins Springs Park

Rawlins Springs Park offers miles of easy trails that wind through the scenic landscape. Enjoy views of the surrounding mountains, forests, and streams as you explore. Biking here is a lot of fun as the terrain isn't too challenging or steep. Length: 4.7 miles Intensity: Easy

Near Dome Rock, anglers will be delighted to find Indian Springs Creek, McFade Waterhole Draw, and Galusha Draw within a short distance. These waters are full of trout and smallmouth bass, which you may catch by traditional methods or by fly fishing. Boaters can take advantage of the calm, shallow waters to paddle around in a kayak or canoe. In summer, swimming is an option as the waters are generally warm and inviting.

Dome Rock is perfect for beginning rock climbers with its gentle inclines and forgiving terrain. Its varied ascents make for a unique climbing experience as well as the perfect opportunity to practice if you are a novice climber. At the top, climbers can enjoy breathtaking views of the Wyoming landscape.

From bighorn sheep to elk, there are plenty of animals to spot at Dome Rock. If you are looking for a campground with more amenities, you will have to travel about 55 miles southeast to Bighorn. Near this town, campgrounds like Deer Park and Indian Campground & RV Park offer full hookups, hot showers, and other amenities like swimming pools and laundry services.
