Smith River Falls

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is responsible for 1 in every 10 acres of land in the U.S.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) is an agency in the U.S. Department of the Interior. One of their responsibilities is to manage public lands for recreational uses. These uses include mountain biking, hiking, hunting, fishing, camping, and more. The Smith River Falls Campground is one of the Bureau of Land Management campgrounds, and it consists of 10 campsites along Oregon's Smith River, just above the falls. The BLM maintains these sites. The sites can't be reserved as they are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

This coastal destination is perfect for those who love playing in the water. Swimming and fishing are the most popular activities here. Picnicking is also a fun activity for visitors. Crater Lake National Park is a 167-mile drive away and easily within a day's driving distance for those who enjoy road trips. Smith River Falls is in the coastal region of Oregon, and it has a mild climate. The temperature may reach 50 in the winter and the upper 70s in the summer. So, there is no need to prepare for extreme weather. Smith River Falls is a quiet area populated mainly by tourists, but bustling Reedsport and Winchester Bay aren't far away. For visitors who enjoy wildlife, it's a great viewing area to watch Bald Eagles.
