Created in 1948, Lockhart State Park is located about 3.5 miles south of Lockhart, Texas, and within 35 miles of Austin and New Braunfels. It is one of the few state parks in Texas to feature a golf course, which was laid out by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The Corps also built several bridges, the recreation hall, the stone water tower, and several other structures that you can see in the park. Lockhart State Park offers visitors the chance to go swimming, hiking, and fishing in Clear Fork Creek. Regardless of what you do to pass the time, you'll enjoy great temperatures year-round.
