RV Resorts & Campsites in Cedar Hill State Park

Treetops RV Resort

The resort is just minutes from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and within driving distance of the state park. Park amenities include an air-conditioned laundry facility, cable TV, and bathhouses. They offer a weekly game night for campers to get together with each other.

Cedar Hill State Park

Inside Cedar Hill State Park

With many miles of landscape and shoreline at Cedar Hill State Park, you will have no trouble finding something to do. Go hiking or biking on the trails to explore the nature that lives within the park. Cool yourself down on a hot summer day by swimming in the lake. The park has two four-lane boat ramps with light parking. You can fish either by boat or on the embankment along Joe Pool Lake. 

Outside Cedar Hill State Park

The area just outside Cedar Hill State Park has many attractions, restaurants, and retail shops. Many of these establishments are within a 20-mile radius of the park.

This location of the well-known restaurant chain is within driving distance of Cedar Hill and south of the Dallas business district. Applebee’s Grill & Bar serves a variety of American dishes, appetizers, seafood, and so much more. There is a wide range of wines, beers, and other beverages served at this restaurant.

Plaza at Cedar Hill is off U.S. Highway 67 and Frontage Road just slightly past McDonald's. You'll find a huge range of shops and restaurants at this plaza. The market offers farm-fresh produce and other nutritional foods.

Hillside Village

Hillside Village is south of downtown Dallas off U.S. Highway 67 and Pleasant Run Road in Cedar Hill. Here, you can purchase items at the grocery store to restock your RV. There is a large selection of brand-name shops, restaurants, and services at this location.

In Duncanville, Texas, located within 7 miles of Cedar Hill State Park, is Danieldale Crossing. You'll find a few shops, restaurants, a hair salon, and an auto parts store. There is a local convenience store right next door that provides gas for purchase.

This shopping center sits in the heart of Duncanville just down from the Duncanville High School and less than 15 minutes away from Cedar Hill State Park. Sightseeing

Cedar Ridge Preserve

Cedar Ridge Preserve is 16 miles from downtown Dallas on Mountain Creek Parkway. Those who enjoy bird-watching will have an enjoyable time looking at the species of birds on this preserve. Some birds you'll see are the eastern bluebird, goldfinch, cardinal, painted bunting, and black-capped vireo. They offer educational field trips and other programs at this nonprofit organization.

Dallas Zoo

The zoo is just off Interstate 35E at the Ewing Avenue/Marsalis Avenue exit, which is less than half an hour from Cedar Hill State Park. The Dallas Zoo has well over 2,000 animals, and the zoologists who work at the zoo offer educational information on each one. Animals featured here include two dozen bird species, cheetahs, giraffes, lions, and tigers. They have a gift shop, café, and restaurants on the premises.

Perot Museum of Nature and Science

Conveniently located near the American Airlines Center entrance and within walking distance of Klyde Warren Park, the Perot Museum of Nature and Science is filled with scientific exhibits on nature, engineering, gems, and minerals. They hold social events for those who are 21 and older. Many events for children and teens are held here, including scouting adventures, discovery camps, sleepovers, and birthday parties.

Dallas Museum of Art

Formally opened in 1909, the Dallas Museum of Art showcases a variety of exhibits, including the Rose-Asenbaum collection. The museum is located north of downtown Dallas and about a 30-minute drive from Cedar Hill.

In Arlington, just west of Dallas off Interstate 30, is the fantastic attraction of Six Flags Over Texas. You'll enjoy character entertainment, family rides, kid rides, and thrill rides. For entry, they offer seasonal passes, a membership package, and daily tickets.

How to Get to
Cedar Hill State Park

From Highway 67, take exit FM 1382 and travel north for about 3 miles. Cedar Hill State Park is on the left. Another travel option is from Interstate 20. Take exit FM 1382 and travel south for around 4 miles. The park will be on the right.

Cedar Hill State Park is open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. every day.
