Deep in the heart of Warick and located along the Greenwich Cove, Goddard Memorial State Park is known as one of Rhode Island's most popular metropolitan parks. Sprawling across nearly 500 acres that are home to 62 deciduous and 19 evergreen tree species, this state park incorporates fields, forests, and lawns for visitors to enjoy. Opened in June of 1930, Goddard Memorial State Park has grown to incorporate a golf course, bathhouse and saltwater beach, bridle trails, game fields, picnic tables, and a performing arts center. In 1979, the park embarked on a journey to begin renovating existing structures and venues and continues to do so. Visitors can also enjoy 10 other nearby parks, including Colt State Park in Bristol and Beavertail State Park in Jamestown, and it's also close to Cranston, Rhode Island.
