Two major US cities located close to Great Salt Plains State Park include Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Kansas City, Kansas. On the way from Oklahoma City, start by getting onto I-40 W from S E K Gaylord Blvd and S Shields Blvd. Take OK-74 N and OK-51 W to OK-132 N in Kingfisher County, then turn right onto OK-132 N. Turn right onto US-412 E/US-60 E, turn left onto OK-132 N, then turn left onto US-64 W. Follow N2730 Rd and OK-38 N to P12 Rd to arrive at the destination.

On the way from Kansas City, start by getting onto I-35 S from Truman Rd. Follow I-35 S to OK-11 W/W Doolin Ave in Blackwell, then take exit 222 from I-35. Continue on OK-11 W. Drive to P12 Rd in Alfalfa County to arrive at the destination.
