If you're headed to Rollins State Park on the slopes of New Hampshire's Mount Kearsarge, you'll be able to enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding area. The park offers opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, and much more. The mountain reaches an elevation of more than 2,900 feet, which makes it a perfect vantage point to see more than 60 miles of the surrounding terrain on a clear day. Some examples of the areas that you can see from the top are Lake Sunapee, Lake Winnipesaukee, and the city of Concord.

Unfortunately, there aren't any RV parks or campgrounds in Rollins State Park. However, there are several RV campgrounds in the area.
What to Do at
Rollins State Park
Rollins State Park is located on Mount Kearsarge, and it offers some of the most beautiful scenery in New Hampshire. In addition, the park offers excellent opportunities for hiking, mountain biking and other outdoor activities.
Nature Watching
While the lower elevations of the park are home to a mixed forest, higher elevations near the summit are home to a predominantly evergreen boreal forest. The entire mountain is home to a wide range of wildlife species.
Stargazing
Due to the park's rural location, levels of light pollution are low. This makes it a great place to see a wide range of celestial sights.
Flora and Fauna
Visitors have the opportunity to see a wide range of wildlife species in the park, including black bears, foxes, raccoons and even the elusive fisher.
Hiking
The hike from Kearsarge Mountain Road to the summit is fairly short but steep, making it a perfect climb for moderate hiking.
Climbing
There are a few small rock faces located near the summit of the mountain, which are good for climbing.
Biking
You'll be able to enjoy mountain biking on the park's trails during the summer months. In fact, you'll be able to find something for any difficulty level.
Fishing
Kearsage Mountain Road crosses a small creek, and this crossing is located near the base of the mountain. This small mountain brook is home to various fish species.
How to Get to
Rollins State Park
If you're coming from Concord, take I-89 North until you reach Exit 8 for Warner. This will take you to New Hampshire 103. Then, make a right on to Kearsarge Mountain Road. The trip will take you approximately an hour and 15 minutes. If you're coming from Boston, get on I-93 North. Take this highway until you reach I-89 North. Then, get on New Hampshire Route 103. This will take you to Kearsarge Mountain Road, which heads into Rollins State Park. It takes approximately an hour and forty-five minutes to reach the park from Boston. If you're coming from northern New Hampshire, take I-91 to get off at Route 103 East in Warner. Take this to Kearsarge Mountain Road, which will lead you into the park.
Entering Rollins State Park
There are two parking areas in Rollins State Park. One is located lower on the mountain, but the other is located near the top of Kearsarge Mountain Road. The upper lot is next to a picnic area, which is near the summit and offers beautiful views.

Frequently Asked Questions About Rollins State Park
The weather tends to be ideal for hiking and mountain biking from mid-May through early September. However, the park receives ample snowfall during the winter months, which makes it a great place to enjoy winter sports such as cross-country skiing, sledding or snowshoeing along the trails.
Mount Kearsarge is home to numerous wildlife species, such as foxes, raccoons, black bear and opossum. In addition, numerous bird species live on the mountain, including blue jays, cardinals, American robins and goldfinches.
Unfortunately, there are no RV camping spots in Rollins State Park. However, there are RV campgrounds located in the area, which are affordable and offer hookups.
There are no campsites in Rollins State Park, and you do not have to reserve a parking pass.
Yes, your pets are allowed to join you in Rollins State Park. However, you'll need to keep them on a leash and under your control at all times.
