Inside Taum Sauk Mountain State Park
The main reason that people come to Taum Sauk Mountain State Park is to go hiking. Try hiking along the Mina Sauk Falls Loop Trail to see the state’s tallest waterfall before hiking up to the Taum Sauk Mountain summit, which is the highest point in Missouri. This park is part of the 7,028-acre St. Francis Mountains Natural Area, so there is lots of wilderness to explore. The park offers 12 spots for tents.

How to Get to
Taum Sauk Mountain State Park
It is easy to get to Taum Sauk Mountain State Park from Ironton, which is located on Missouri 21, very near its junction with Missouri 72. Head south out of Ironton and turn right on Missouri 21 South. Stay on Missouri 21 South for about five miles until you reach State Highway CC. Turn right. In about four miles, you will see High Point Trail Head. Turn left, and you will be at the park.

It is free to enter the day-use area of this park, which is available from sunrise to sunset daily. Tent camping is an additional fee.
