Geode State Park is named after Iowa's state rock and is a beautiful destination in southeast Iowa. The park is located just six miles northeast of Danville, nine miles from New London, and 16.5 miles west of Burlington. A display of geodes with mysterious crystal formation in their hollow cavities can be seen at the park office. Lake Geode is a focal point of the state park with more than 150 acres for water activities. The state park is filled with nature trails, wildlife, mature trees, and beautiful landscapes.

Geode State Park has various hiking trails around the lake where you can observe and enjoy the natural beauty of the park and watch the wildlife. How to Get to
Geode State Park

From Danville, head south on South Main Street toward East Dewey Street and continue onto Danville Road. Travel for less than two miles, and then turn right onto Country Road/Iowa Highway 79. Drive for about three miles, and the road will change to Racine Avenue. From there, just follow the signs to the park.
