The Lake Pueblo State Park is one of Colorado's premier fishing state parks, touting over 4,600 acres of water along with 10,000 acres of land. The nearest city of Pueblo is a short 20-minute drive away. Colorado Springs is only about an hour away via I-25 N or CO-115 N. If you come during the winter months, be prepared for frigid chills with low temperatures in the teens and highs of only 50 degrees on average, but the spring, summer and fall months warm up considerably, averaging about 70 to 90 degrees from May through October.

Haggard's RV Campground
Haggard's RV Campground is a centrally located RV campground with tons of attractions nearby including Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Canon City, Cripple Creek, San Isabel National Forest, Bishop's Castle and more. The campground offers clean and comfortable facilities starting at $37 per night, but there are no weekly rates or monthly sites. An additional $20 will be charged as a cleaning fee for any stays over two nights to ensure every site is kept up to cleanliness standards. This RV park does have full hookups and pull-thru sites, but the owners recommend you bring your own drinking water as the hookups are on highly mineralized well water. Weather permitting, there is a pool available from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Pueblo KOA Journey
This KOA campground has all the amenities you need for a comfortable trip, including 24/7 laundry, free Wi-Fi and cable, and an adults-only hot tub. There is a kitchen on-site that will deliver pizza and hot wings directly to your campsite. Or, if you prefer to grill yourself, there are private RV sites with a fenced area, gas grill, patio, fire pit, picnic table, and shade all for your party. There's even an 8,000-square-foot, fully fenced dog park in case Fido needs to run. The basic sites for big rigs feature full hook-up, pull-thru sites starting at $55 per night.
Pueblo West Campground and Arena
Pueblo West Campground and Arena offers every kind of camping experience you could ask for from RV to the cabin to the tents. It's open year-round with laundry rooms and shower-equipped restrooms. In addition, the fully paved access road welcomes pets, motorcycles, and even horses if you want. Pueblo West Campground and Arena is only eight miles from Pueblo Lake, and the affordable full RV hook-up site rates include nightly stays for $30, weekly stays for $150, and monthly stays for $315 plus electricity with a $200 deposit.

Lake Pueblo State Park offers water recreation galore, including sailing, boating, water skiing, river tubing and fishing from the full-service marinas and boat ramps. But water recreation isn't the only way to experience the state park at Lake Pueblo. Miles of trails offer hiking, biking, picnicking and exploration with the gorgeous views of the famous Pike's Peak to your north and the Greenhorn and Wet mountain ranges to the southwest. Plan your trip early; it's common for this state park to reach capacity during the peak of the summer.
How to Get to
Lake Pueblo State Park
If you're coming from the north, you have two choices for getting to Lake Pueblo. Take I-25 to Pueblo and turn west on U.S. Hwy 50 Exit 101. Drive four miles to Pueblo Blvd. Turn south and go four miles to Thatcher Blvd. Hwy 96. Turn west and go four miles to the south park entrances.
Alternatively, take I-25 to Pueblo. Turn west on U.S. Hwy 50 Exit 101. Drive seven miles to McCulloch Blvd. Then, turn south and go four miles to Nichols Rd. Turn south and drive one mile to the north park entrance.
From the south, you should take I-25 to Pueblo. Turn west on Pueblo Blvd Exit 94. Drive five miles to Thatcher Blvd.; the road will turn south after two miles. Turn west and continue four miles to the park.
