I am a VW enthusiast, and wish I had more time to use this camper van myself. I hate to see it sitting in my driveway unused!

This 1985 VW Westfalia Pop Up brings back all of the nostalgia of my previously owned 1992 VW Vanagon. Eric keeps it as original as possible, so expect a 40 plus year old vehicle, with the expected cosmetic aging, wear and tear, and the usual replacements to include tires, brakes, engine, clutch etc as needed. Eric keeps up with ongoing maintenance.
Had no problems. Fun time.
This was a very nostalgic VW and we had a grand adventure in it. The host was very helpful and the communication was solid. Would rent again.
Thank you for the review. I am glad you had a nostalgic trip!
We really enjoyed our trip to Zion and Grand Canyon national parks! The van drove great, even in the occasional 100 degree weather. Grateful that there were several fans in the van because the A/C did not work. When we experienced issues with the battery and power related to charging devices, Eric was very communicative in attempting to resolves the issues.
Thanks for letting me know the A/C didn’t work and I’m sorry you couldn’t use it to cool the camper. I had the A/C serviced as soon as you returned it to me.
I had a wonderful weekend exploring Bandolier and the Turquoise Trail in "The White Rocket" I had a 74 VW Bus in high school and then a 72 Bug during college and have always been a VW fan, so renting/driving Eric's vanagon was a nostalgia rush for me!
The car ran like a champ and everything worked and functioned fine. Pick up/drop off and communication with Eric was easy.
Thanks Michael! I’m glad you had a good time exploring northern NM.
Note to self: do not rent a 40 year old van, no matter how good the reviews. We had a very unfortunte experience with the misnamed "White Rocket". Long story short, after picking up the van, 15 minutes outside of Albuquerque the van overheated and we heard a loud "BANG" just before white smoke billowed out of the back. We were on the highway, stuck in traffic in the middle lane.
I am sorry for your unfortunate rental experience. What happened was the engine’s head gasket blew and the engine is currently under repair. This is not something that could have been predicted. I apologize for not replying to your most recent message - I just returned from a week’s work assignment in the Nevada desert and had no cell contact.
