Hinterland Music Festival is three days of music curated for people who love both music and the outdoors. True to its name, Hinterland is held in Saint Charles, a beautiful rural escape just outside Des Moines, Iowa.
ACTIVITIES & ENTERTAINMENT
A fun-filled kid corner of Hinterland Music Festival, Hinterkids, features a cooled tent full of free art activities, coloring stations, nursing/pumping privacy, and more!

ON-SITE AMENITIES
They will have a wide variety of food and beverage options to satisfy all, including vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and corn-free options! Keep an eye on our website for a complete list closer to the festival.
Lost and Found is located at the Box Office during the festival.
LOCATION
Hinterland Music Festival is located at the Avenue of the Saints Amphitheater 3357 St Charles Rd, St Charles, IA 50240, a naturally formed amphitheater that overlooks the beautiful Iowa landscape. We’re about 30 miles south of Des Moines, Iowa and just a few minutes west of I-35.

RVING AT THE EVENT
To camp at Hinterland is to experience an earthy side of the festival. Immerse yourself in the weekend of music by sleeping in the Iowa countryside in an ephemeral community of other Hinterland campers.
If you choose to camp, you can set up your site, spend all day in the sun, have a little home base right next door to all the action, watch the moon rise over the horizon, and have a nice short walk “home” after the headliner. Then wake up and do it all again, maybe meeting some other campers at one of the food locations or at the after-hours Campfire Stage, if you’re all about that late night party.

WHERE TO STAY
There are a variety of hotel options available in Des Moines, West Des Moines, Indianola and Osceola.
HOW TO GET THERE
They recommend taking I-35 to Hinterland. Please note the peak travel times of 8AM on Friday (for RVs) and 10AM on Friday (for campers), 4PM-6PM each day and exiting the festival each night, so please plan accordingly. Get directions via Google Maps.
PARKING
Parking passes are sold by lot location (view map). Advance purchase at hinterlandiowa.com/ticketing is recommended. You can also buy parking the day of the festival in the General Parking, as long as it is not sold out using cash only.
Tickets that require purchasing a parking pass: General Admission, Gold/Silver/Bronze Camping
Tickets with free parking: Saints, VIP, Glamping, RV Camping, Reserved Camping
Large vehicles (longer than 20 feet) will need to purchase an RV camping spot and park there. Motorcycles are allowed in the parking lots and require a parking pass.
Hours All Parking Lots – Check-in is available between 10AM-8PM on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. All cars and campers must exit before Noon on Monday. Single day parkers must exit by midnight each day.
RV – Check-in is available between 8AM-8PM on Friday, 10AM-8PM on Saturday and Sunday. All RVs must exit before Noon on Monday.
ADA Parking ADA Parking is located west of the festival grounds (view map). Please purchase a General 3-Day Parking Pass in advance here or purchase parking day of for $TBA per day, cash only. Upon arrival, go to the ADA Check-In.
