ACTIVITIES & ENTERTAINMENT
Every year, the Hinterland Music Festival offers a variety of fun activities and entertainment for its guests. The Hinterkids tent has fun crafts and activities like piñata-making, bandana-stamping, and a drawing disco. Adults can enjoy a silent disco during the festival and yoga by the Campfire Stage on Saturday and Sunday mornings. RVING AT THE EVENT
RV camping on-site is an incredible opportunity for RVing families who want to make new friends and lasting connections. The onsite RV camping spots are 20 feet by 40 feet, and only RVs that fit within these measurements are permitted. Some camping spots have 50-amp electric hookups, but most sites do not have any hookups. You may bring a generator, but you must observe quiet hours starting around 11:30 p.m. after live performances end. They just added pump-out and water refill services.
Where to Camp Near the Hinterland Music Festival
You have several options for camping near this festival if you prefer a quieter campsite or want additional hookups or amenities. Crow’s Nest RV Resort is about 20 miles from the festival, and it offers full hookups with some pull-thru sites. You’ll also find picnic tables, concrete pads, and fire pits. Pammel State Park is less than 20 miles away and offers electric hookups, a dump station, shower facilities, picnic tables, restrooms, lake access, fire rings, and pressurized water.

HOW TO GET THERE
To get to Hinterland, take Interstate 35 or Iowa State Highway 92. Peak travel times for non-campers are 3 p.m.–5 p.m. each day and right after the festival each night.
PARKING
Hinterland has different parking rules for campers and non-campers. Every vehicle entering Hinterland must have a parking pass window sticker, which you can purchase here. View Hinterland’s festival maps to locate your parking lot, and follow the posted signs when you arrive. Parking for Non-Campers: General Parking 1-Day or 3-Day is west of I-35. Premium Parking 3-Day is next to the east festival entrance. ADA Parking is southwest of the south festival entrance. Check-in times for non-campers are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday through Sunday. 3-Day general parking and premium parking passholders can re-enter the parking area during daylight hours, but 1-Day general parking passholders cannot re-enter after they exit the parking lot. All cars must exit by noon on Monday, Aug. 4. Parking for Campers: Tent campers must purchase a $50 tent camping parking pass in addition to their camping pass and festival ticket. Car camping tickets include parking for one vehicle within your campsite. RV camping tickets include a companion vehicle parking pass for in-and-out use. Everyone must have a festival admission ticket to enter. Glampers must purchase a premium parking pass in addition to their camping pass. SAINTS tickets include one premium parking pass. Check-in times for tent campers are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Car, RV, glamping, and SAINTS ticket holders can check in between noon and 8 p.m. on Thursday, or 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday through Sunday. All campers must exit by noon on Monday. Vehicle re-entry is allowed for tent campers and RV camper companion vehicles during daylight hours. Drivable RVs cannot re-enter. Car campers and 1-Day general parking pass holders cannot re-enter once they exit. Accessible Parking: The ADA Parking Lot provides convenient access to designated parking spaces for attendees with valid accessibility credentials. A valid government-issued disabled parking placard, permit, or license plate is required to use these spaces. 3-Day ($60) and 1-Day ($25) ADA parking passes are also available. Bring your blankets and find a great spot on the hill to enjoy the Miniland activities with your kids. You'll find arts-and-crafts opportunities in shaded areas. You can also enjoy performances by Jessie Murph, CMAT, Julia Wolff, and The Format. By evening, head to the main stage for the Mumford & Sons performance. ● Day 4: Final Performances and Departure Prep: Enjoy a relaxing morning and eat brunch with your new friends. By afternoon, you can enjoy performances by Young Miko, Geese, Wet Leg, or Pixel Grip. The evening headliner is Kali Uchis. After the show, pack up and prepare for the ride home.
