Just 17 miles away from The Old Hundred Gold Mine is the family oriented Red Mountain RV Park. There is plenty to do here. Train enthusiasts love the rrow-gauge trip from Durango. Outdoor sportsmen find great fishing, hiking, biking, kayaking, ATV paths, Jeep trails, and snowmobiling, skiing and snowboarding in the winter, and much more. This is a friendly park that the whole family can enjoy.
Nestled in the San Juan Mountains, the park has incredible mountain views. The RV park is right next to the Durango rrow Gauge train tracks with a view of Kendall Mountain. No trails run at night, but during the day, you get to see the trains driven by a coal-fired engine carrying passengers several times a day. Great visual appeal and friendly hosts. There is plenty to do in the area.
“Alpine Loop. Museum is a great experience. Train buffs love the rrow gauge run from Durango. Fishing. ATV’ing/Jeeping/Snowmobiling. Kayaking. Hiking. And if here for the 4th – great parade and fireworks!!” – RV Park Reviews
