O’Neill Regional Park is part of the Orange County park system. It comprises 4,500 acres of heavily wooded wilderness terrain with several creeks that may be dry in the summer and fall. Trails may be closed for two days after rain.
O’Neill Regional Park has more than 23 miles of trails that are suitable for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. The facility has special equestrian campsites and is one of the few regional parks that cater to those who enjoy riding horses. The park also offers educational programs.
“A wonderful place to walk, hike, BBQ, camp overnight, and commune with nature in the middle of Rancho Santa Margarita. If you’re ever having a bad day (or even if you’re not!), come here and walk under the trees for 30 minutes, and you will feel better!” – Jackie, Google Review
