This park is designed to preserve historic Davidsonville, one of the first settlements in the old Arkansaw Territory. It was established in 1815, and it’s where the first courthouse, land office, and post office in Arkansas can be found. This park is great for campers who enjoy history.
If you love historical sites, this park is one of the best places to visit in the state. Programs that provide education on history, nature, and archaeology take place on a regular basis. Since the park is close to the Black River, you can enjoy different water-related activities, including swimming, boating, canoeing, and fishing. There are also hiking trails and a playground for kids.
“This place is worth a visit!!! This is the best-kept secret in Pocahontas. A very nice visitor center with individual hand held info speaker.” – Sandy, TripAdvisor
