Fishing and Boating
For aquatic fun, head to Sand Hollow Reservoir in Sand Hollow State Park. The beach at Sand Hollow, located on the southern shore, offers rentals for kayaks and stand-up paddleboards. For a faster-paced experience, you can also rent jet skis, power boats, and wakeboards. Take a SCUBA class, and explore an underwater obstacle course with sunken treasures. Quail Creek Reservoir is a top spot to fish for rainbow trout.
Climbing
Don your climbing gear for a day at Pioneer Park in St. George. The 52-acre city park offers lots of bouldering opportunities. A favorite is Dixie Rock, which serves up dazzling views of Zion National Park.
Wildlife Viewing
Along the sandstone walls of Canaan Mountain, hawks, falcons, and golden eagles make their nests. On the plateaus and in the lower canyon, a diverse array of wildlife thrives, including ring-tailed cats, deer, cougars, and black bears. The air is fresh with the scents of ponderosa pine, pinyon pine, Utah juniper, scrub oak, and sagebrush.
Picnicking
Pioneer Park in St. George is home to a large picnic area beneath a trellis pavilion that offers two barbecues and a fire ring. You'll also find several smaller picnic areas; two of them have smaller trellis pavilions for shade.
OHV Riding
Coral Pink Sand Dunes in Kanab is about 25 miles from White Domes Trail. Visitors flock to this state park to play among the pinkish-colored dunes. You can go hiking, ATV riding, and sandboarding there. About 90% of the dunes are open to ATVs. The park also offers RV camping.
