Hiking
Bradshaw Trail National Back Country Byway
The Bradshaw Trail National Back Country Byway is a point-to-point trail that begins near San Bernardino and runs through Coachella Valley, San Gorgonio Pass, and the Salton Sink all the way to the Colorado River. The trail has an elevation gain of 2,545 feet and is suitable for wildlife viewing and off-road driving.

Corn Springs Campground Trail
Corn Springs Campground Trail is located approximately 37 miles from Wiley's Well Campground. The trail is excellent for hiking and viewing wildlife like jackrabbits, antelopes, and kangaroo rats.

Fishing and Boating
Located 44 miles from Wiley's Well Campground, Palo Verde Dam creates one of the main fishing spots in the region. Some of the fish species that you can expect to catch near the dam include largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, catfish, bluegill, and bullhead.
Visitors can go fishing anywhere along the nearby Colorado River, which is approximately 1,400 miles long and is mostly known for rainbow trout and brown trout. However, anglers can also expect to catch crappies, catfishes, and walleyes. Boating and swimming are also allowed in some parts of the Colorado River.
Climbing
Joshua Tree National Park is one of the best climbing destinations near Wiley's Well Campground. The park offers numerous climbing opportunities for novice and experienced climbers, such as the Hidden Valley. It features iconic rock formations like the Intersection Rock, which offers classic crack climbs, and the Cyclops Rock, which is known for its unique shape. Other climbing spots in the park include Indian Cove and Quail Springs. Quail Springs is known for its beautiful granite slabs and unique formations, such as the Old Woman.
Wildlife Viewing
Some of the wild animals that you are likely to spot at Wiley's Well Campground include desert tortoises, bighorn sheep, lizards, rattlesnakes, and birds such as vultures, hawks, and crows. For more wildlife viewing opportunities, visitors can head to Oxbow Recreation Area, which is located 18 miles from Wiley's Well Campground. The recreation area features a variety of wildlife, including mountain lions, wild horses, deer, foxes, and waterfowl.
Picnicking
Wiley's Well Campground is equipped with numerous picnic tables, grills, and fire pits throughout its grounds. In addition, the surrounding landscape comprises smoke trees, ironwood trees, and mesquites providing ample shade and a serene environment that is perfect for outdoor dining.
Rockhounding
Wiley's Well Campground is the perfect destination for guests who are into collecting rocks, precious stones, and minerals. Some of the rocks and minerals that you are likely to come across while touring the campground include jasper, quartz, citrine, and rhyolite.
