Set a short distance from Frog Hollow Lake, Lakeview Campground is full of beautiful views. It is a great place if you want to enjoy sunrises and sunsets from the shores of the lake. There are shades for all campsites, and they are all set on grassy fields.
Thirty-four out of 41 campsites offer electric, water, and sewer hookups, while the remaining seven only hook up to electricity. There are vault toilets and a modern restroom, with a shower available, during the peak season. At the entrance of the campground is a dumping station to serve the whole campground.
From the campground, you are a short distance from picnic areas, the beach, boat launch, piers, and trailheads. If you are interested in hiking, the woods and prairies are also a short distance from the campground. If you visit Lake View Campground during summer, you need to reserve a campsite. For 30 of the 41 campsites, you have to reserve a site, but for the remaining 11, you try your luck by arriving early. The campsite can accommodate an RV or trailer up to 90 feet long. Nightly rates start at $19 with full hookups.

This is an equestrian-friendly campground set in a wood-lined field. It offers a convenient launching spot for RV campers who need to explore the recreation area on horseback. From the campground are several trailheads. After the exploration, campers can relax at the banks of Volga River. At night, the throbbing sounds of the flowing river bring nature closer to your camp.
This campground has 34 campsites with electric hookups. There are facilities such as two vault toilets, picnic tables, and hitching posts. It is easy to park your RV at the site, seeing that the layout is straightforward with no turns. If you come with a horse, there are two manure bunkers, and you have to pick after your horse. Out of the 34 sites, you have to reserve 28 of them, while the rest are available as long as you get there early. RVs and trailers up to 90 feet can fit in the campsites. You can drive to the Volga River State Recreation Area via Ivy Road, which further connects to highway IA – 150 through the 175th Street. Ivy Road will lead you to the park. Fayette is the nearest town off IA-150.
Entering Volga River State Recreation Area
Entering parks in Iowa is free. You will only pay for any other amenities, such as water and electric hookups. Inside, you can hire boats and horses and any other water gear when you need to explore the park. The park is open for visitors from 4:00 a.m. and closes at 10:00 p.m.
