Hartman Creek State Park is located on beautiful Chain O' Lakes, where seven lakes with crystal clear waters flow. Before becoming a state park in 1966, Hartman Creek was originally a fish hatchery where dams were built to create four spring-fed lakes: Middle, Allen, Grebe, and Hartman. The park area is comprised of oak and pine trees, swamps, and waterfalls, making it the perfect environment for squirrels, hawks, waterfowl, box turtles, and migratory birds. This natural gem of a park sits on a section of the terminal moraine of the Wisconsin glacier. The park is near the cities of Waupaca, New London, and Weyauwega.

Waupaca S'more Fun Campground
Waupaca S'more Fun Campground is conveniently located right off of Highway 10 and Highway 22 and is 2 miles from Chain O' Lakes. The campground features a wide range of sites with full hookup accessibility. Some amenities included in your stay are a swimming pool, Wi-Fi, a playground, and a game room. The camping store supplies ice, firewood, propane, and some grocery supplies.
Rustic Woods Campground
Rustic Woods Campground is family-owned and operated and is just 7 miles south of Waupaca. There are 150 seasonal campsites and 30 weekday and weekend sites equipped with water and electrical hookups. Some of the seasonal sites either have sewer hookup availability or a 30-gallon holding tank; also, there is a dump station on site. This pet-friendly campground has many amenities to keep you occupied, such as a small lake for fishing, a game room, a park, horseshoe pits, and a swimming pool. A restaurant and bar are located on the grounds.
Wild West Campground & Corral
Live like a modern cowboy when you stay at the Wild West Campground & Corral. All campsites are operational with water and electrical hookups, and some offer sewer hookup options. The extra-large sites are nestled among the beautiful oak forest providing privacy and plenty of shade. This dog-friendly campground offers free Wi-Fi, hayrides, and horseback riding. All horses are well-trained for all types of riders, including beginners.

Inside Hartman Creek State Park
Hartman Creek offers 12 miles of off-road biking trails combined with some hiking and biking segments; a 6-mile segment is all singletrack, and none of the trails are paved. Hikers can choose from about 10 miles of varied trails that take you through Allen Lake or other scenic areas of the park. You can cool off in the large marked-off swimming area of Hartman Lake or relax on its 300-foot sandy beach. The lake at the east end of the park is ideal for canoeing, kayaking, and boating recreation. Other activities to do inside the park are fishing, camping, picnicking, cross-country skiing, and snowshoeing.
How to Get to
Hartman Creek State Park
If you're traveling from Waupaca, you'll want to head west on West Fulton Street toward North Washington Street. Continue on WI-54 West for 4.6 miles, and then turn left onto Hartman Creek Road. You'll travel for about 1.6 miles and then turn left onto Rural Road. Follow signs to the state park.
