Northwood Meadows State Park

extends over 674.5 acres in a wilderness setting. This wooded New Hampshire state park has a vast wetlands area, making it an ideal place to observe the beautiful greenery and wildlife. It's just a six-mile drive from Northwood and eight miles from Deerfield. The park includes a pond shaped by a dammed brook, and it's also home to various fish species. Before visiting, you'll want to pack accordingly as the temperatures get rather chilly at night even during the warmer months. In winter, the temperatures often stay below freezing.

Northwood Meadows State Park is a popular place for fishing and non-motorized boating. The easily accessible trails are ideal for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. Winnie The Pooh Trail

Your children will love to visit Winnie The Pooh and his friends' stomping grounds, but be sure to have them read the chapter where Pooh and Piglet Go Hunting. The Winnie The Pooh Trail brings the children's classic to life as you walk the path where all the characters live, including Christopher Robin.

Candia Springs Adventure Park

Candia Springs Adventure Park has two courses, with one being relatively easy and the other being moderate yet challenging. The courses challenge you to move from platform to platform on the ground and up in the trees by climbing ladders, crossing various bridges, ziplining, and going through several obstacles.

Chuckster’s Amusement Center

Chuckster’s Amusement Center is open from mid-April to mid October. There's a wide range of activities for the whole family to enjoy, from batting cages and "Light Frenzy" to go-karts and a zipline. The center also sells delicious foods and ice cream.

McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center

The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center is in Concord, which is less than a half-hour drive from the state park entrance. The center has a fantastic collection of innovative, interactive exhibits to explore. For a more learning-based experience, visit the planetarium theater to observe scientific discoveries.

Pedal the rails at Scenic RailRiders, where you can ride in a custom-built bike that sits directly on the rails. The rail-bikes are easy to pedal through the 6.4-mile adventure, and they offer comfortable seats with seat belts and handlebars to rest your arms.

How to Get to
Northwood Meadows State Park

From Northwood, follow US-202 West/US-4 West for approximately three miles. The state park will be on the left. 

From Deerfield, head northeast on Harvey Road toward NH-43 South and follow for about a mile. Turn right onto NH-43 North. Travel for about four miles and then turn left onto US-202 West/US-4 West. Follow for about three miles, and the state park will be on the left. 

From Barrington, head west on NH-9 West toward Hillside Drive for about six miles and then turn right onto US-202 West/US-4 West. Follow for approximately three miles, and you'll see the state park on the left.
