White Memorial Family Campground

Walking/Hiking — The most important thing to do while at Macedonia Brook State Park is hiking. This particular park boasts one of the best hiking trails of any of the Connecticut state parks: The Blue Trail. This trail crosses a mountain and offers spectacular views, especially during the fall when the foliage is turning.
Fishing — The in-park streams offer some wonderful fishing opportunities. The water runs clear and the fish are plentiful. Be sure to bring your gear!
Picnicking — You’ll want to eat during your visit, and you probably won’t want to leave the park to do it. Luckily, there are plenty of outstanding picnic places throughout the park. Pack some sandwiches and a blanket, and plan to enjoy your food and a gorgeous view of nature.

To reach Macedonia Brook State Park, follow Route 341 until you reach Macedonia Brook Rd. From there, head northeast on Macedonia Brook Rd, keeping left at the fork of Macedonia Brook Rd and Fuller Mountain Rd. Follow signs into the park.

While this park does charge fees for camping, there are no fees to enter the park for day use. Therefore, unless you plan to camp in the park, you simply need to park and jump right into your outdoor fun.

For camping, Macedonia Brook State Park is open from early May to early October. The park is open for hiking and picnicking in the warmer months. In the winter, many visitors come for the cross-country skiing.
Macedonia Brook State Park is inland and has a humid continental climate. The summers are hot, and the winters are cold. The area receives about 45 inches of annual rainfall, and the rainy season is late spring to early summer.
The park’s campground has 51 sites for RVs and tents. Twenty-two sites are intended for RVs as standard, nonelectrical campsites. The maximum RV length that the campground can accommodate is 35 feet.
With a minimum two-night stay, advance reservations are accepted up to 11 months before you arrive. The cost per night is $14 for Connecticut residents and $24 for others.
You are welcome to bring your pets to Macedonia Brook State Park for a picnic or a hike, but they must be on a leash. No pets are allowed in the campground.
