The Vetting Process

In order to ensure the safety, integrity and trust for both renters and owners, all users and vehicles on the marketplace will undergo a vetting process. DigiSure, RVshare’s trusted partner, manages the vetting across renters, owners and RVs.

Here are some examples of the things that are reviewed during the vetting:

  • ID verification
  • Criminal background checks
  • Global watch list
  • Legitimate drivers license
  • At least 25 years or older
  • Good driving history
  • Age of vehicle
  • Major recalls

The majority of the time, this review is instant and users will immediately know if they are approved. In some cases, additional information is required and must be provided directly to DigiSure. In other cases, it’s possible that a user or RV is declined and will be unable to proceed on RVshare. This includes owners who have commercial coverage as a separate policy on their RV.

RV Rental Insurance Cost

Besides the never-ending options of RVs for rent, RVshare is known for having fair and transparent prices. Fees are per day and automatically included in your rate.

Insurance and protection pricing is based on but not limited to factors such as age, type, length, stated value of the RV, and whether you’re renting a motorized or non-motorized RV. For RVs that are older than 20 years of age, RVshare offers liability only insurance coverage.

You’ll also need to understand limits and deductibles. Make sure the policy is high enough – even a small fender bender in a motorhome can cost thousands of dollars to repair! Based on all of the above factors, temporary RV rental insurance rates are typically anywhere from $15 to $30 per day.

Insurance for Renting Out Your RV

Clearly, if you’re a renter, using RVshare’s insurance protection beats all other RV rental insurance binder options available. But what if you’re an RV owner and you want to know, “Should I rent out my RV?” The good news is that RVshare’s insurance option is perfect for you too.

Owners can create a profile and list their RVs free of charge to start letting their RV pay for itself as soon as possible. It’s quick, painless, and owners are in complete control of who they rent to, when they rent, and how much to charge.

When you do list your RV and activate the free insurance offered to owners, you’re automatically approved for $500,000 in liability coverage with the possibility of upgrading to $1,000,000! Owners are also automatically covered for comprehensive and collision coverage for the full value of their RV (up to $300k). For delivered RVs, coverage is included for accidental damages after delivery.

If your RV is 15 years old or newer, you will be automatically approved whether you’re renting out a trailer or a motorhome. There are absolutely zero fees, and your deductible is $1,500 payable from your security deposit.

Your RV insurance is one of the most important things you’ll purchase before your RV adventures. Research your options well and make sure you’re covering yourself completely. Even if you never use your insurance at all, the peace of mind it will provide while you enjoy your travels is worth every penny you pay.

*All RVshare Protection Plans include insurance under a third-party automobile liability insurance policy issued to RVshare through Crum & Forster, a 200 year-old, insurance group that provides market-leading property insurance and protection solutions (“Crum & Forster”).  The Crum & Forster policy provides secondary (excess) third-party liability coverage.  The policy does not provide coverage for damage to the rented vehicle.  All conditions of coverage, terms, and limitations are defined and provided for in the policy.  RVshare is not an insurance company, and the contract with RVshare under the Protection Plan, which limits your responsibility for physical damage to the rented vehicle, is not insurance.  For questions or information about the third-party liability insurance or your responsibility for damage to the rented vehicle during a trip, contact RVshare’s administrator DigiSure Insurance Solutions, Inc. at (833) 612-1683.
