Lollapalooza offers four days of live musical performances spanning all popular genres of music. Want a change of pace? Wander through Grant Park and you'll also find a variety of visual arts exhibits. Many Chicago restaurants, such as Chow Town, sell top-notch food and refreshments. If you bring your kids, stop in at Kidzapalooza for family-friendly musical performances, arts and crafts and other fun activities.

ON-SITE AMENITIES

It may be a music festival first and foremost, but Lollapalooza's also a great place to indulge your inner foodie. There are food and drink stands galore, plus food trucks and other vendors selling cravable treats. You'll also find lots of merch tables selling band apparel and related items, not to mention booths selling products for various charitable organizations. Public restrooms and porta-potties are conveniently located throughout the park.

Lollapalooza is hosted yearly in scenic Grant Park. Just steps from the shore of Lake Michigan, it sits squarely within the famous Loop in the heart of downtown Chicago. Can you bring an RV to Lollapalooza?

Unfortunately, no. Due to its location, there's not enough space to accommodate parking or camping on the festival grounds.

Where can you park an RV for Lollapalooza?

It depends. If you're prepared for a little boondocking, McCormick Place is an ideal spot within easy walking distance. Otherwise, you'll find several campgrounds within an hour of Grant Park offering full hookups and amenities.

Is Lollapalooza family-friendly?

Yes, it is, but with a few caveats. Kidzapalooza specifically caters to children and families, so it's always a safe bet. Kids may enjoy parts of the broader festival as well, but some areas, like Perry's Stage, are notoriously rowdy and not recommended for younger festivalgoers.

Lollapalooza doesn't offer on-site camping. However, no matter what RV class you arrive in, there are plenty of great camping options nearby!

Where to Camp Near Lollapalooza

• McCormick Place is a massive convention center just south of Grant Park that offers convenient and affordable overnight parking. The parking lot is staffed 24/7 and offers reserved spaces, but you'll have to do without water or hookups during your stay. • Camp Bullfrog Lake is located in nearby Willow Springs, around a 35-minute drive from Lollapalooza. The campground features water and electricity, free parking, indoor bathrooms, sanitary stations and more. There are also lots of recreational activities available, from hiking and biking to fishing and picnicking. • Emerald Trails Campground is about 40 miles from the festival site, and it offers all the amenities you might need. This includes 30-amp service, restrooms, dump stations and showers. There's ample space inside the campground, too, even if you're driving a decked-out Class A motorhome.

RV Rental Tips for Lollapalooza

• RV camping spaces are often in high demand, so have a backup plan if your preferred destination falls through. For sites that offer reservations, such as McCormick Place, it pays to book as early as possible. • Staying at a park with hookups usually means a longer commute to and from the festival. If you'd rather stay closer to the action, prepare for dry camping by conserving power and loading up on water. • The mid-summer heat and humidity can be intense, even at night, so make sure you have a plan for staying cool and well-hydrated.
