Anduril 250
The Anduril 250 is the first NASCAR street-racing event ever held on an active military base. The race will deliver high-speed action, sharp team strategy, and unpredictable moments, all from Naval Base Coronado in San Diego. It's part of The NASCAR Cup Series, the major league of NASCAR stock car racing. The three-day race weekend combines NASCAR Cup Series action with Xfinity and Craftsman Truck Series events, making it a great trip for racing fans, families, and tailgaters. Please note that this guide covers the 2026 Anduril 250. Check back for 2027 updates!
ACTIVITIES & ENTERTAINMENT
Race weekend includes even more than the main Anduril 250 event. Fans can catch Xfinity Series and Craftsman Truck Series action, including practice and qualifying sessions. These circuits feature rising talent and experienced teams working through strategy, setup, and speed before the Cup Series race. Between track sessions, you can explore food vendors, fan zones, exhibits, and race-weekend programming.
LOCATION
Anduril 250 will take place at the North Island of Naval Base Coronado. The address is Naval Base Coronado, San Diego, CA 92135. The primary highway serving the area is State Route 75, which connects directly to Interstate 5. You will only be permitted to park at the main event lot if you hold a valid parking pass. Because this event takes place on a federal military base, guests 18 and older need a government-issued ID, and foreign nationals need a passport. The route offers stunning views of San Diego Bay and the USS Midway Museum. Weather in June stays mild and comfortable with average highs in the low 70s and overnight lows in the low 60s. Rain is rare during this month, which helps keep travel plans steady and predictable.
RVING AT THE EVENT
One of the best ways to experience the Anduril 250 NASCAR event is with an RV. This approach gives you steady comfort at a reasonable cost while keeping you close to the action. Browse RV rentals near San Diego to find RVs near the race. Overnight RV camping and RV parking aren't available on Naval Base Coronado during the race weekend. The best way to experience the event is by staying at one of several nearby RV parks and commuting to the venue.
Where to Camp Near Anduril 250
Naval Base Coronado isn't open for camping during the Anduril 250, but there are plenty of high-quality campgrounds in the San Diego area. Start with NASCAR San Diego's official campground partner, Santee Lakes Campground. They're running a special NASCAR week offer for new seven-night stays that include June 19–21. Other options include San Diego Metro KOA Resort in Chula Vista. It has pull-through and back-in sites, full hookups, 50-amp service, a pool, a dog park, laundry, and enough kid-friendly amenities to keep the whole crew happy. Also worth a look in Chula Vista is Sun Outdoors San Diego Bay. This resort-style park near San Diego Bay offers a polished, comfortable home base with full hookups, modern facilities, and easy access to the southern part of the metro area. Military-affiliated travelers can check availability at Fiddler's Cove Marina and RV Park, where access is limited to eligible MWR ID cardholders.
RV Rental Tips for Anduril 250
Passes and campsites both go fast, so book early. Acting fast also gives you more RV rental options to choose from. Most nearby RV parks offer full-hookup sites with water, sewer, and electric service, but availability is limited during NASCAR weekend, so reservations should be made well in advance. For this event, two RV types tend to work well. A Class B RV is a compact van-based motorhome that fits into standard parking spaces and works great for small groups. Don't let the size fool you; many come loaded with kitchenettes, showers, and generators. Step up to a Class C RV, and you get a mid-sized rig with more room to hang out, an over-cab sleeping area, separate beds, a larger kitchen, and storage.
WHERE TO STAY
If you prefer to stay in a hotel, Coronado and downtown San Diego offer plenty of comfortable hotel options within a short drive of Naval Base Coronado. The historic Hotel del Coronado, the waterfront Coronado Island Marriott Resort & Spa, and the Loews Coronado Bay Resort all provide convenient access to the race while giving you immediate access to Coronado Beach, restaurants, and local attractions.
HOW TO GET THERE
RVs aren't allowed in the parking areas on Naval Base Coronado, so leave yours at your campground, and figure out your game plan from there. Drive in with a smaller vehicle and a valid parking pass, grab a rideshare to the designated drop-off area, or take public transit. MTS Route 901 gets you to the NASNI Transit Center, and you'll enter the base on foot through the Carrier Gate at Quay Road and Alameda Boulevard. You can also take the ferry to Coronado Ferry Landing. Just know there's no shuttle from the landing to the base, and the walk to the event entrance is a little over a mile.
