The 28th annual Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats & Eats festival is ready to fill your belly and your soul over Labor Day weekend. Founded to provide affordable, family-friendly entertainment and to celebrate the quality of life in Oakland County, Arts, Beats & Eats brings a variety of artists, musicians, and culinary delights to downtown Royal Oak. The mile-long event draws over 300,000 visitors, features a highly ranked juried art show, and attracts top acts from around the country as well as quality local entertainers. Mark your calendars, and get ready to feast your eyes, ears, and stomach on this unique festival that offers something for every member of the family.
Located on the south end of the festival grounds, a juried fine art show features accomplished and emerging artists from across the country. Experience a variety of mediums including drawing and pastels, ceramics, glass, digital art, jewelry, leatherwork, and textiles. More than nine stages showcase the finest local and national music acts throughout the weekend. Whether you're a fan of country, rock, pop, or alternative, the "beats" part of Arts, Beats & Eats caters to every music lover with a wide variety of genres. Food trucks and restaurant booths are located throughout the event space offering classic fair food, cultural dishes, traditional American cuisine, and more. Show up hungry because you won't want to miss this culinary adventure. Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats & Eats also has plenty of family fun for people of all ages. Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats & Eats has been committed to sustainability for over a decade. All cutlery, plates, serving ware, and utensils provided are Styrofoam-free, and compostable materials are encouraged. Soda, water, and beer are served in cans, and bins to collect recyclables are available. Several restrooms are conveniently located throughout the event space. The festival features a wide variety of food and beverage vendors, but outside food and drink, chairs, and coolers are not allowed.

Although there is nowhere to RV directly at the event or in downtown Royal Oak, you can find plenty of great campgrounds nearby. Staying at a campground gives you the opportunity to enjoy hiking, fishing, boating, swimming, and other activities in addition to everything offered by Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats & Eats. You can also save money on meals by cooking with local ingredients at your campsite. If you're bringing furry friends along, you will appreciate having plenty of room for walks and play because pets are not allowed at the event except for ADA-approved service animals. Make sure your pets have everything they need for safe and comfortable RV travels. Whether you're looking for a quiet atmosphere, fun things for the kids to do, or beautiful views of nature, these three campgrounds offer a convenient and comfortable place to RV while attending Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats & Eats. • Emmet KOA Holiday Campground is located about an hour away and features a four-acre lake, sandy beach, and family-focused atmosphere. • Wilderness Campground near Dundee offers a secluded atmosphere with daily activities and welcomes pets. • Sun Outdoors Kensington Valley, formerly known as Haas Lake Park RV Campground, provides a peaceful country setting in a convenient location with an on-site store and recreation building.
If you're looking for convenient accommodations during your visit to Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats & Eats, there are several hotels located just a short distance from the festival. The Hotel Royal Oak offers a modern, comfortable stay in the heart of downtown, within walking distance of the event. Another great option is the The Townsend Hotel in nearby Birmingham, known for its luxurious rooms and top-notch service. Royal Oak is a short 18-minute drive from downtown Detroit going north on I-75, or take I-96 and I-696 if you're traveling east from Lansing.
Soaring Eagle Arts, Beats & Eats has worked out an inclusive parking plan to make sure visitors don't have to worry about finding a spot. Several downtown and near-downtown parking lots are available for your convenience with designated handicapped spots in each lot for guests with the appropriate tags or license plates. Parking at a shuttle lot is available for $10 with free shuttle service. The event also offers two bicycle corrals with room for 900 bikes, and several SMART bus routes take passengers directly to the festival if you want to avoid the hassle of parking and traffic.
You can visit the festival for free on Friday until 5 pm, and tickets are $12 for the rest of the evening. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday tickets are $10 until 3 pm and $12 after 3 pm. Advance tickets will be available for $7. Children under the age of three are admitted free of charge. Active-duty military and veterans can present a valid military ID for free admission. All of the concerts at the event, including the Jim Beam National Stage, are included with your general admission ticket. Tickets come with a wristband that's good for the entire day, so you can leave the event and come back later. Wristbands that have been cut or taped are not accepted for re-entry, so keep them on for the whole day. Tickets for the kiddie carnival are $1 each, and rides are 3-6 tickets per ride.
